Today on the pod, Chad and Clint discuss where to find new ideas to improve their teaching practices!
Chad has been in education for 16 years, mostly as a high school math, PE and Health teacher. Somewhere in the middle, though, he had the crazy idea to be a school administrator, which he did for a few years before coming to his senses and getting back to the job he loves (and is much better at). He works and lives in beautiful Astoria, OR, where he gets to raise his three awesome kids with his equally awesome and way-out-of-his-league wife, Emily. Chad is also a football coach, moderately skilled craftsman and wannabe entrepreneur.
Chad in1997 - What a hunk!
Clint + Homecoming = Sexy
Clint's been teaching since the fall of 2002, that's 17 years for all of you math wizards. (In case you were wondering, he is not one.) He spent 14 of those years in Astoria, OR, but now lives and works in Roanoke, VA. He primarily teaches high school English, but has been known to team up with science, drama, art, and other subject-specific teachers to create a big, dumb mess, usually. He also has the sense of humor of a 14 year-old boy, so he can totally relate to his students. Clint also has three kids and a much cooler-than-him wife. Basically Clint and Chad are twins.
As I record this, it is March 28, 2018, 4 days past the March For Our Lives student-led protest in Washington DC and around the country. I know much has been said about the Parkland students who led the way and kickstarted the national conversation about guns, gun control, the power of youth votes, and what they see as the corruption of politics as usual.
